"Blue Mountain State" Sequel Gains Steam At Amazon: Alan Ritchson Confirms Fourth Season

Fans of Blue Mountain State have reason to celebrate—Alan Ritchson has confirmed that a fourth season of the cult comedy is on the way. During a press conference at the Daytona 500, Ritchson, who played the legendary Thad Castle, revealed that the new season is being developed at Amazon’s Prime Video.

“We are going to make a fourth season happen,” Ritchson announced. “Honestly, I think it’s going to be the best season of BMS we’ve ever had. It is so damn funny, and it’s perfect, the way we resurrect the characters and bring them into the way that things are now.”

The series, which originally ran for three seasons on Spike TV from 2010 to 2011, has gained a devoted fan base over the years, especially after landing on Netflix. Its raunchy humor and over-the-top portrayal of college football antics have made it a cult favorite.

Sources say the sequel’s development is moving quickly, with a greenlight decision expected soon. Ritchson, also serving as an executive producer, has been working with Amazon MGM Studios to align schedules and finalize production plans.

Alongside Ritchson, original co-stars Darin Brooks and Chris Romano are expected to return, as well as series creators Chris Romano and Eric Falconer. This marks the second revival of BMS, following the 2016 Kickstarter-funded film Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland.

With momentum building, it looks like BMS fans won’t have to wait much longer for their favorite Mountain Goats to return. Stay tuned for more updates on the highly anticipated sequel!
