The latest episode of Pod Meets World took an unexpectedly intense turn when former Boy Meets World co-stars Danielle Fishel and Maitland Ward clashed over past tensions and lingering resentment. Before the episode even started, the hosts issued a rare warning about explicit language and mature subject matter—setting the stage for a dramatic conversation.
Maitland Ward, best known as Rachel McGuire, joined the Feb. 23 episode to discuss her career, including her transition into the adult film industry. However, the conversation took a heated turn when Fishel asked, “Do you hate us?” Ward countered, accusing Fishel of ignoring her on the Girl Meets World set and later deleting her on Facebook.
Fishel defended herself, explaining that she rarely used Facebook and hadn’t seen Ward’s message for years. Ward, however, remained skeptical, believing their past friendship had soured due to professional jealousy.
The tension escalated further when Ward accused the Pod Meets World hosts of capitalizing on drama for ratings, prompting Fishel to fire back: “I’m not the one who wanted to go for ratings… This is what you asked for.” Ward also suggested that the hosts harbored animosity toward their former co-star Ben Savage and show creator Michael Jacobs, which they all denied.
Co-host Will Friedle took a rare moment to weigh in, expressing his own frustration over Savage’s decision to cut off communication with the cast, stating, “Ben absolutely one day woke up and said, ‘I don’t want Will in my life,’ and never told me why.”
By the end of the episode, tensions cooled slightly, with Fishel extending an invitation for Ward to return in the future. However, the heated exchange made it clear that while the Boy Meets World cast once shared a beloved on-screen friendship, their off-screen relationships remain complicated.
