Jonathan Majors is attempting a Hollywood comeback, and Michael B. Jordan is showing support. Majors’ long-delayed film Magazine Dreams is finally hitting over 2,000 theaters on March 21, marking his first major release since his legal troubles. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan, who directed and starred in Creed III, expressed interest in working with Majors again.
“I would love to make Creed IV together—among other projects,” Jordan said, making it clear that he still believes in Majors’ talent. But whether this can actually happen remains uncertain. Jordan has significant industry influence, but convincing Amazon/MGM to take a risk on Majors may be a tough sell.
Jordan also praised Majors' resilience, calling it a “tough situation” but reaffirming his support. “He’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all,” he told GQ.
Other Hollywood figures have also spoken out. Matthew McConaughey, who co-starred with Majors in White Boy Rick (2018), told THR, “I believe in him. He’s always striving to improve as a human, a man, and an actor.”
Majors’ career suffered a major setback after his December conviction for reckless assault and harassment. He was sentenced to a year-long domestic violence intervention program and subsequently fired from his role as Kang in the Avengers franchise. However, he is set to appear in the upcoming sci-fi film Merciless, directed by Martin Villeneuve.
Whether Hollywood is ready to fully welcome Majors back remains to be seen, but Jordan’s support could be a game-changer.
