David Leitch Is In Talks To Direct "Ocean’s 14"

Writer: Dan LalondeDan Lalonde

David Leitch, the acclaimed director known for John Wick and The Fall Guy, is reportedly in discussions to helm Ocean’s 14, the next installment in the beloved heist franchise. According to sources, this project will bring back George Clooney as the suave Danny Ocean, with Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Casey Affleck expected to reprise their roles.

This marks the first Ocean’s film in the main franchise not directed by Steven Soderbergh, who crafted the iconic trilogy. Instead, Leitch is set to bring his distinct action-driven style to the series, having previously collaborated with Pitt on Bullet Train. Clooney’s Smokehouse Productions is partnering with Warner Bros. for the film, setting high expectations for a thrilling addition to the Ocean’s saga.

The original trilogy, which concluded with 2007’s Ocean’s 13, earned over $420 million at the domestic box office, cementing its place as a cultural phenomenon. Fans of the franchise also saw a spin-off in 2018 with Ocean’s 8, starring an all-female ensemble led by Sandra Bullock.

Interestingly, this isn’t the only Ocean’s project in the works. A separate Ocean’s Eleven prequel, set in 1960s Europe, is currently under development, featuring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie with Jay Roach directing.

With Leitch’s expertise in crafting fast-paced, stylish action films, anticipation is high for this latest installment. Can he continue the legacy of daring heists and smooth-talking criminals that fans adore? Only time will tell, but one thing’s certain—Ocean’s 14 is shaping up to be a blockbuster worth waiting for.
