HANS ZIMMER INTERVIEW VIDEO BELOW ARTICLE:
Renowned composer Hans Zimmer isn’t in a hurry to dive back into the superhero genre. Despite being one of the most celebrated film composers in Hollywood, Zimmer has turned down offers to score Marvel films, as he revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
“Look, I’ve done the trifecta. I’ve done Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman,” Zimmer stated. “I mean, what do you want me to do? Some of the minor characters? Probably yes.”
While Marvel had indeed approached him for a project, Zimmer ultimately declined, citing bad timing and a desire to explore different creative avenues.
Zimmer has already left an undeniable mark on superhero cinema. His work on The Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, and Wonder Woman 1984 helped define the sound of modern superhero films. Even though he has composed scores for Marvel characters before—such as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Dark Phoenix—neither of those films was part of the official Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) at the time.
For now, it seems Zimmer is focused on new artistic challenges, rather than revisiting the superhero world. Whether he ever changes his stance on Marvel remains to be seen, but his legacy in the genre is already firmly established.
