HENRY CAVILL'S "JAMES BOND" AUDITION TAPE VIDEO BELOW ARTICLE:

Henry Cavill’s 2005 James Bond audition has seemingly appeared online, reigniting discussions about what could have been. The footage, shared on the Ron South YouTube channel, showcases Cavill’s take on the iconic spy before ultimately losing the role to Daniel Craig.

Alongside Cavill, the leaked tapes reportedly feature auditions from Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr. However, it’s Cavill’s screen test that has gained the most attention. Even Casino Royale director Martin Campbell praised his audition as “tremendous” and allegedly preferred him for the role. Despite this, the final decision favored Craig, as he was seen as a better fit for the franchise’s reboot.

While Cavill never became 007, he didn’t stray far from the world of espionage. He starred as a suave secret agent in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015), a stylish spy thriller where he played Napoleon Solo opposite Armie Hammer. More recently, he took on another espionage role in Argylle, alongside Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, and Bryan Cranston. Unfortunately, Argylle received poor reviews, scoring just 4/10 from IGN.

Despite the Bond setback, Cavill’s career has flourished. He brought Superman to life in Man of Steel and won over fans as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher. Whether he’ll ever get another shot at Bond remains uncertain, but his track record proves he has the charm, presence, and action chops for the role.
