Marvel Studios has officially put an end to speculation about a second season of Moon Knight, the Disney+ series that debuted in 2022. Despite its strong reception and Oscar Isaac’s praised performance as the troubled mercenary Marc Spector, Marvel Television executive Brad Winderbaum confirmed in an interview with ComicBook.com that there are no current plans for another season.
Winderbaum explained that Marvel’s approach to TV is shifting, with new projects focusing on standalone annual releases rather than traditional serialized seasons. He noted that Moon Knight was part of an earlier wave of shows intended to introduce new characters who would later be integrated into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, fans of the character still have reason to be hopeful. While a second season isn’t in development, Winderbaum teased that Moon Knight’s story isn’t over. “There are plans for Moon Knight down the road,” he revealed, though he didn’t specify whether the character will appear in another Disney+ series, a Marvel film, or some other project.
The season finale of Moon Knight left audiences with plenty of unanswered questions, especially regarding the emergence of Jake Lockley, Marc Spector’s most dangerous and ruthless personality. Whether Marvel continues that storyline in a future movie or TV special remains to be seen.
For now, fans can revisit all six episodes of Moon Knight, currently available for streaming on Disney+.
