Marvel’s “X-Men” Reboot Reportedly Begins Filming In October 2025

Writer: Dan LalondeDan Lalonde

Marvel fans, get ready—the long-awaited X-Men reboot might finally be on the way. According to a new listing on the Film and Television Industry Alliance database, the film is set to start shooting in the UK on October 6, 2025.

The untitled X-Men project is believed to be one of Marvel’s two mystery films slated for 2027, specifically the November 5th release. While Marvel Studios has remained tight-lipped, reports suggest that this reboot will follow Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to introduce mutants into the MCU.

Adding to the excitement, the film has reportedly secured Rafe Judkins (The Wheel of Time) and Michael Lesslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) as writers. Lesslie was previously rumored to be involved, and now it seems official.

Who’s Joining the X-Men?

Casting rumors are already swirling. Industry insider Jeff Sneider claims that Harris Dickinson (Triangle of Sadness) is being considered for Cyclops, while Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) is in the running for Jean Grey. With filming potentially starting in October, we can expect more casting news in the coming months.

Will It Hit Theaters in July 2027?

If production kicks off this fall as planned, the X-Men reboot could take the July 2027 Marvel slot instead of November. However, with projects like Black Panther 3, Blade, Doctor Strange 3, and Shang-Chi 2 also in development, Marvel may opt for a later release.

The big question is who will play Wolverine? Will it be Hugh Jackman returning, Henry Cavill who played a Wolverine variant in Deadpool & Wolverine or will it be a new actor?
