Scott Foley & Matthew Lillard Return For "Scream 7"

Writer: Dan LalondeDan Lalonde

Horror fans, get ready—two familiar faces are making a shocking return to the Scream franchise! Scott Foley and Matthew Lillard have officially joined the cast of Scream 7, set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.

Foley, who played Roman Bridger—the Ghostface killer of Scream 3—is back, despite his character’s seemingly definitive death. Lillard, who portrayed Stu Macher in the 1996 original, is also making a comeback, though his character was last seen being electrocuted by a CRT television.

The big question on everyone’s mind: How are these killers returning? Are we looking at flashbacks, secret twins, or faked deaths? The Scream franchise is no stranger to twists, and speculation is already running wild.

Foley and Lillard will join legacy cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown, as well as franchise newcomers Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, and Mark Consuelos.

Adding to the excitement, Kevin Williamson, the original creator of Scream, is directing this installment from a script by Guy Busick (Scream VI). James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein are on board as producers.

With production currently underway, fans can expect more surprises as the film inches closer to its 2026 release.
