Stephen Amell is ready to suit up and hit the courtroom in NBC’s highly anticipated spinoff Suits LA. Premiering Sunday, Feb. 23, at 9/8c, the series introduces viewers to Ted Black (played by Amell), a bold and brash attorney who claims the title of “the best attorney in the country.”
The new trailer, which dropped during the NFL playoff game between the Rams and Eagles, sets the stage with a nod to the iconic Suits theme song, Ima Robot’s “Greenback Boogie.” The footage features Ted exiting a courtroom with swagger and delivering confident one-liners. In true Suits fashion, the teaser also makes a playful reference to the original series’ fan-favorite, Harvey Specter. Ted describes Harvey as someone “even cockier than me,” before quipping, “That’s exactly why I liked him.”
The idea for Suits LA gained traction after the original Suits experienced an unexpected surge in popularity on streaming platforms. In 2023, the USA Network drama became a breakout hit on Netflix and Peacock, racking up 57.7 billion viewing minutes and becoming the most-streamed show of the year, according to Nielsen. Fans’ renewed interest sparked talks of a revival, but NBC ultimately decided to expand the Suits universe with a fresh storyline and new characters.
