Great news for Ted Lasso fans—Apple TV+ has officially renewed the hit series for a fourth season, with Jason Sudeikis returning as the ever-optimistic football coach. While no additional casting has been confirmed, reports suggest that Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift have had their options picked up.
In a statement, Sudeikis teased the theme of the new season: “In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Jack Burditt (30 Rock, Modern Family) has joined as executive producer, alongside Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), Goldstein, and several other key creatives. Bill Lawrence continues as an executive producer through his Doozer Productions, working with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television.
Since its debut in 2020, Ted Lasso has become a cultural phenomenon, blending humor with heartfelt storytelling. The show has earned 61 Emmy nominations and 13 wins, including back-to-back victories for Best Comedy Series. Season 3 seemingly wrapped up many storylines, with Ted returning to Kansas to be with his son. However, the overwhelming fan demand for more has led Apple TV+ to greenlight another season.
As Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, put it: “‘Ted Lasso’ has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion, and unwavering belief.”
With the return of Ted, AFC Richmond, and the ever-inspiring "Lasso Way," fans can once again believe in the power of optimism, teamwork, and biscuits.
