Tom Holland & Zendaya Filming Schedules For "Avengers: Doomsday" & "Dune: Messiah" Revealed

Writer: Dan LalondeDan Lalonde

The next few months are shaping up to be a whirlwind for Hollywood, with major blockbuster productions kicking into high gear. Recent reports suggest that filming schedules are shifting for two highly anticipated films: “Dune: Messiah” and “Avengers: Doomsday”, leading to big questions about cast availability and production logistics.

“Dune: Messiah” Starts Filming Sooner Than Expected

Originally slated for an early 2026 production start, Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Messiah” is reportedly moving ahead much sooner. According to Deadline, the sequel to “Dune: Part Two” is now expected to begin shooting as early as June 2025. This accelerated timeline raises speculation about how the film will fit into the packed schedules of key actors, especially Zendaya, whose character plays an even bigger role in this chapter of the sci-fi epic.

“Avengers: Doomsday” Faces a Delay

Meanwhile, Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday” is experiencing a slight setback. Industry scooper Daniel Richtman claims that filming, originally set for March, has been pushed back to April due to the script not being fully finalized. This delay could have significant scheduling implications for Tom Holland, who is juggling commitments to Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” and the next “Spider-Man” film.

Reports suggest a possible workaround—similar to Pedro Pascal’s role in “The Mandalorian”—where a stunt double handles most of the Spider-Man suit sequences while Holland provides voiceovers later, reducing his on-set time.

Hollywood’s Busy Production Slate

Zendaya is also navigating a packed schedule, balancing her final season of HBO’s “Euphoria”, roles in “The Odyssey”, “Spider-Man 4”, and now an accelerated “Dune: Messiah” shoot. With all these projects in motion, how studios manage cast availability remains a major point of interest.

Additionally, Richtman reports that Dave Filoni’s “Star Wars” film and the “New Jedi Order” movie starring Daisy Ridley are both targeting 2026 production starts, further adding to the industry’s jam-packed timeline.

With filming schedules shifting rapidly, fans can expect a flurry of updates in the coming months. Whether it’s Marvel, sci-fi, or galaxy-spanning epics, 2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for cinema.
